How often are sessions scheduled?
We will decide together how often to meet. It depends on people’s schedules and the immediacy of your needs. It can be as often as twice a week or as little as 1-2 times a month.
How Does Online Therapy work?
Online therapy is an appropriate alternative for clients who are unable to meet in person due to demanding schedules, geographical distance and/or limited financial ability.
In Person Verses Online Therapy?
Online counseling is not the right fit for everyone. If you are in extreme crisis, present a danger to themselves or others or have been diagnosed with severe mental illness, you will need a higher level of care in person.
A phone or video consult/assessment is required in order for the therapist to determine whether online treatment is appropriate and safe. If a higher level of care is needed, I will do my best to provide resources and/or referrals.
What forms of payment do you take?
Cash, Venmo, Zelle (personal checks no longer accepted).
What about Insurance?
While I do not accept insurance, I can provide out-of-network billing for clients to submit to their insurance companies.
Do you provide Sliding Scale rates?
Not at this time.
Is it normal to feel anxious or unsure about beginning therapy?
Change takes courage. It’s hard for anyone to ask for help when things gets tough. It’s important to remember that being able to ask for support when you need it is not a sign of weakness but strength.
How quickly will I see results?
People are complex and complicated beings and it may take some time. In some cases change can come quickly and in others it happens gradually over time.
How long will the therapy last?
There is no set amount of time. I recommend that clients start with regular weekly appointments so that we can explore the scope of our work together and determine how best to approach your goals. As the sessions progress, we can discuss the amount of time that seems appropriate and comfortable for you moving forward.
